some timeless bridal images
what i've always said about my wedding is that all elements must be timeless. nothing trendy.
(because love is timeless, of course)
i think that's why i'm so intrigued by these vintage/classic looks- the ruffles, the lace, the delicate fabrics.
also, if you haven't checked out this website, you must. it's the most glamorous website i've ever seen.

five must-have's for my future house
2. an organized front closet/ shoe rack. (his & hers, maybe?)
3. a beautiful bath tub.
4. floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural, bright white light to beam in and create sunpatches on the wooden floor.
5. cozy blankets scattered about the house for family & guests to wrap up in on a rainy or blistery day.
what are your requirements?

happy monday.
good morning and happy monday.
for those of you who follow this blog, and i don't think there's too many, i've decided to incorporate somewhat of a schedule to my blogging. when i first started this blog, i found many things inspiring and constantly had items to post. now, i have several images and ideas stored, but i need a way to organize them in a meaningful way. so i've decided- monday i'll blog about fashion inspiration, tuesday i'll blog about house inspiration, wednesday i'll blog about travel inspiration, thursday will be about wedding inspiration, and friday will be about food and culinary inspiration.
all my life i have tried to decide if i'm a person who likes having a set plan and regimen, or if i like spontaneity, so we'll see how well this works. you might just get some miscellaneous posting along the way. but since this is mainly my journal, and nothing too public, i'm not all that concerned.
for those of you out there- enjoy!
monday is fashion day because i think all of us, at least women, get to monday morning and want a fresh start to our week. since women usually incorporate what they're feeling into their wardrobe, we crave a fresh look for our monday attire- a way to reestablish ourselves and position anew for the week.
my fashion sense may not be a match to yours, and i may even post things that i could only dream about wearing and in reality am not actually daring enough to flaunt in public. as it goes, by the end of the week i find myself wearing those staple outfits, the habitual ones that are there for you time and time again (i need to work on finding more of these). the key to fashion i think is to find a shape that fits you, a particular silhouette that is flattering, and then replicate it each day wearing new fabrics, colors, or adding new accessories. above is one look i love.
let me know what you think!

for you
"claire de lune"
by paul verlaine (1844-1896)
your soul is a chosen landscape
where charming masked and costumed figures go
playing the lute and dancing and almost
sad beneath their fantastic disguises
all sing in a minor key
of all-conquering love and careless fortune
they do not seem to believe in their happiness
and their song mingles with the moonlight
the still moonlight, sad and beautiful,
which gives the birds to dream in the trees
and makes the fountain sprays sob in ecstacy,
the tall, slender fountain sprays among the marble statues.
"claire de lune" by claude debussy is a depiction of paul verlaine's poem...
