Babies.
Babies are on my mind. Don't freak out. I won't be having one for a while, but I think it's worth mentioning for now, at least, that anytime I see a baby in public I get completely transfixed.
Also, tonight at Cooks of Crocus Hill (where I work), my family sat by a young married couple at a father's day cooking class. The couple has twin baby girls, just 8 months old; the mom is an English teacher, and the dad is a financial analyst at Target. They both did their undergrads at Bethel, and the dad got his MBA from Carlson. They were attending the cooking class to celebrate their family's first father's day, and had received discounted tickets from their church small group. {I fell in love with them at once, obviously!! They're like, the perfect family!}
So I decided twins might be kind of perfect. I think that little family will stay in my memory reference bank for a long time, as I continue to dream about my own family someday...

old beauty
These images explain in sum why I am a sucker for antiques. Imagine the stories behind such beautifully crafted tiles and dresser knobs (!!)...
If ahead of me, my destiny is to someday own a store, you can be sure trinkets like these will be browsed by my future patrons. {Images from alloverprint.}

color boards
These are the works of 100 Layer Cake, a unique wedding planning resource/ blog for thoughtful, crafty and modern women.
They title the top board 'softly summer' and the bottom one 'sultry garden romance'. Love the names. {That would be a fun job- sorta like the people at Crayola that get to name the colors of crayons.} Anyway, these boards are beautiful- good way to come up with a color scheme for your big day by collage-ing images that you love, and drawing out the common colors from each.

Hearing the good news today made me want to fall to my knees and praise God. The sun has finally peaked out of the clouds... (!!!!)

Paris
"So we spent most of our time walking and eating in Paris. The weather was so good we barely set foot inside, only to rest up at the end of the day in our sweet little apartment on a bustling street. We didn't go to any galleries. We will save them for next time, maybe Autumn when there is a chill in the air, when only a Picasso or a Monet can warm your heart."
...One of the most poetic paragraphs I have read in a long time. Oh, how I envy Lee for her ticket there this summer...

Yay. Took this photo in my room. To the left is one of the necklaces Lee and I made last night....SO proud. The beads were supposed to be strung on the prettier, peachier colored ribbon- but the hole in the bead was too small to fit the {prettier} inch-wide ribbon, so I had to improvise with white.
Can I just tell you how happy a strand of pretty ribbon makes me? Very, very happy- and costs $1.50 for a yard and a half.
